Our fantastic team is made up of SHANE ZIMMER, our Deputy Manager of CIC SA whose leadership has empowered each one of us to own this project. In other words, he keeps us on our toes at all times. :)
LYNDA ROBINSON is the Content Developer for this project. Lynda is the Moodle expert, although it drives her nuts all the time. :) Lynda has been a teacher, coordinator and site developer in her career of 10 years in the Graphic Arts Industry.
LEON WOODS whose role is imperative in this project for without him, this project would never have existed. Leon plays the role as the Industry Liaison between CIC SA and the Graphic Arts Industry.
GRZEGORZ LAWRYNOWICZ (I know, it is a mouthful isn’t it) better known as GREG is the IT Manager for this project. He is responsible in setting up all the IT facilities needed for this project. Greg has vast experiences in web development, graphic designing, multimedia and web hosting. He is the man!
XIAO WEN TAN - that would be me. :) I am the Hitler of the project, ensuring that everyone does their job and putting everything together according to the timeline. I am also responsible in marketing this project to the whole wide world, and hopefully I am doing a good job (pat on the back!)
So there you, go our fantabulous team of the SA Innovations Project 2010!

Creating Connections, Empowering Business Education
Yes, that is the title of the project that the team is working on now. Let me try to give you an overview of the project in a nutshell.
CIC SA is developing an innovative and customised Certificate III in Printing & Graphic Arts (Graphic Pre-press) training for the Graphic Arts Industry personnel employed at Pace Print (our business partner for this project). We are also looking at extending this opportunity to further businesses in the Graphic Arts Industry here in SA.
This is no ordinary training as part of the E-learning initiative will focus on providing the qualification through a delivery mode that is beneficial to the employees of Pace Print as well as other businesses in the industry. We will do away with the traditional methods of training by delivering it in 3 different approaches; namely classroom, on-the-job and online. Traditional face-to-face delivery methods were deemed not suitable for those already working unqualified in the industry and those who wish to get into the industry but unable to attend full time schooling due to family or work commitments and regional location.
Hence this initiative of which CIC SA is proudly leading the way in developing a stronger industry - education link in training due to the highly evolving nature of the industry and its technology. How exciting!

The great news!
It has always been a desire of mine to start my own blog but I never got to doing it for various reasons. What are the odds that now I have to blog for the purpose of this project that our team is currently engaged in.
Come to think of it, it is an interesting concept to blog about every step involved in seeing this project through. So here I am, keeping you posted with what's going on, at least on my part.
It all started on 29th March 2010 when I got "the" email notifying me that the application for the SA Innovation Projects 2010 was successful. That was definitely a defining moment for Cambridge International College SA as we embark on this new and exciting journey. So watch this space!
